Tielle Universal Elbow/Heel Dressings

2004
Johnson & Johnson are an American based multinational company who specialise in providing a large range of products to the medical industry worldwide, from medical devices to pharmaceuticals and consumer packaged goods.

The Challenge
J&J commissioned Blueprint to produce designs for universal Elbow/Heel wound dressings. The dressings would become part of the Tielle bandage range and had to be designed to fit the largest proportion of the population possible. A key requirement of each design was that they had to be self adhesive, eliminating the need for an overwrap or secondary dressing.

What we did
Blueprint we able to deliver two final solutions that were tailored to meet the specific requirements set by J&J in the brief. Alongside development sketches and ergonomic data research/input, the team also developed a series of sketch models to actively evaluate the effectiveness of the shapes and designs. Blueprint created the final designs and prototypes which were displayed at the Wound Healing Union in Paris before the eventual start of full production later in the year.
